JITKA ČECHOVÁ - piano

Born in Mělník near Prague, she received her basic musical training from Prof. Jan Novotný at the Prague Conservatoire and from Prof. Peter Toperczer at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. Her individual musical gifts were then developed to their full during postgraduate studies under Eugen Indjic in Paris and Vitali Berzon in Freiburg. She acquired further experience during her research studies at master classes given by R. Kehrer in Weimar, E. Indjic and L. Berman in Piešťany, and Avo Kuyumjian in Prague.

JAN PÁLENÍČEK - cello

As soloist and chamber musician he is heir to a great musical family tradition that was established by his father Josef Páleníček pianist, world-famous interpreter of Janáček, and founder of the first Smetana Trio. Jan Páleníček was first introduced to the art of cello playing by two of the best teachers of the Prague Academy of Music, Prof. Sascha Večtomov and Prof. Miloš Sádlo. He studied chamber music under Prof. Josef Vlach, first violin with the Vlach Quartet. Close contacts with Paul Tortellier made for a happy culmination to his early development.
